The Advantage of Accent Lighting for Indoor Plants
Creating accent lights for indoor plants is a fun home improvement project. Accent lighting doesn’t have to be ordinary or fanciful because simple and practical lighting techniques can make the biggest impact.
If you have natural or synthetic plants in your home, you can create an inspiring light source out of these green accessories. Larger plants tend to provide the best background for accent lighting in the home, so stress adding additional light to these items. For some practical tips on how to use natural and synthetic plants for lighting your sunroom, living room, and bedroom, follow these simple guidelines.
Use Vine in a Sunroom or Enclosed Patio
Synthetic vines can be used to light a patio or sunroom in a way that is warm and friendly. You will feel like you’ve just entered a tropical cabana. Purchase several long synthetic ivy vines from your local craft store and wrap stringed lights around the vine. If possible, use light strands that have a green wire, so the wires blend in nicely with the green vine. After you have entangled the vine with stringed lights, you can carefully tack the vine around the perimeter of the room where the ceiling meets the floor. The result is a lighted room that carries a tropical ambiance. You will feel like you are on vacation every time you enter the room.
